How it works
Map who already sends you work
We go through your last several months of jobs and mark the ones that came through another business. Most owners find two or three relationships they have never once thanked properly.
Put the arrangement on paper
Together we write down what each partner sends, what you send back, how the customer is told, and how every referral is tracked. Nothing goes to a partner until you have read and approved it.
Talk it through with us first
No sign-up and no membership fee to join anything. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.
Van.Network helps Metro Vancouver trades and local professionals get more work by introduction. We find the businesses that already sit next to yours in a customer's journey, write down how you'll look after each other's customers, disclose any arrangement plainly, and track every referral to a booked job. We're a marketing and business consulting service, not a contractor: we don't install, repair or service anything, and we don't run a membership club.
Why referrals deserve a system, not a handshake
A referred customer usually arrives already trusting you, because someone they trust vouched for you. That shortens the quote, softens the price conversation and often skips the three-way comparison entirely. The problem is that most owners treat referrals as weather: pleasant when it happens, impossible to plan.
Here's a simple way to see what's at stake. Say an average job is worth $2,800 to you and a renovator you know sends you about one job a month without being asked. That's roughly $33,600 of revenue a year from one relationship you've never written down, thanked or measured. If a little structure turned that into two jobs a month, and added two more partners at a similar pace, the referral side of the business would be a real line in your plan rather than a lucky break.
Structure means four things:
- Knowing who sends work today, from your own job records rather than memory.
- Agreeing in writing what each side does, how quickly you respond, and what happens if a referred customer is unhappy.
- Telling customers when there's any fee, discount or two-way arrangement behind a recommendation.
- Counting results per partner, so you invest time in the relationships that actually produce jobs.
What we set up for you
We work on five pieces, and most owners start with two or three. The services overview explains how to choose.
- Partner program design: which kinds of businesses to approach, what you offer them, and a simple standard you hold yourself to on every referred job.
- Written referral terms: a plain-language agreement and a customer-facing disclosure line, drafted for your lawyer to review.
- Referral tracking: a separate tracking number or code per partner, tagged in whatever job software you already use.
- Partner outreach: a short list of complementary firms near your crews and a respectful way to open the conversation.
- Referral landing pages: a page each partner can send people to, written for the job they're likely to need.
Who this works for in Metro Vancouver
Referral partnerships work wherever one business routinely meets a customer just before or just after another. A few pairings we see make sense across the region:
| If you are a… | Natural partners often include… |
|---|---|
| Plumber | Renovators, kitchen and bath designers, property managers, strata managers |
| Electrician | Renovators, solar and EV-charger sellers, home stagers, property managers |
| Roofer | Gutter cleaners, painters, home inspectors, insurance-repair restorers |
| Painter | Home stagers, drywall crews, flooring stores, property managers |
| Landscaper | Fencing and deck builders, irrigation specialists, pool and hot-tub dealers |
| Bookkeeper or accountant | Insurance brokers, business lawyers, commercial lenders |
Geography matters as much as fit. A partner in Richmond is only useful to a North Vancouver crew if both of you are willing to cross two bridges for the job. Our areas page goes through each part of the region with that in mind.
How we keep it honest
Referrals only stay valuable while customers can trust them. So three rules apply to everything we build:
- Disclosure in writing. Canada's Competition Bureau treats payments, discounts and personal relationships as material connections that people promoting a business should disclose. We help you write that disclosure; your lawyer confirms the wording.
- No link schemes. Swapping links with partners to climb rankings is something Google's spam policies explicitly call link spam. A partner page on your site exists to help a customer pick the next trade, nothing more.
- No invented proof. We won't write reviews for partners, ask them to post ratings for you, or publish claims nobody can check.
If you're in a regulated profession, your regulator or professional body may limit referral fees altogether. Ask them before agreeing to any payment.
What our HVAC work shows about relationships
Our case studies come from heating and cooling companies, so we present them as results from our HVAC work rather than as referral-program results. They still show the same discipline of building a business around trust and measurement. GasBoilers.ca is a gas-boiler division built for CANRO Heat that now serves 26+ BC communities and holds 5.0★ from 76+ Google reviews. BCWide.ca reached 3× leads in 90 days. More detail is on the results page.

Frequently asked questions
What is Van.Network?
Van.Network is a Canadian digital marketing and business consulting service that helps trades and local professionals in Metro Vancouver build and run their own referral partnerships. Van.Network belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, is based in Vancouver, BC, and Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads it personally.
Is this a membership club or a lead-sharing group?
No. There is no member list to join and no pool of leads we hand out. We help your business set up its own partnerships with the companies you choose, on terms you control.
Do you do any of the trade work?
No. We are not a contractor and never install, repair or service anything. We plan the partnerships, write the materials and set up the tracking; your own crew and your partners do the work.
Do referral partners have to pay each other?
Not at all. Many of the healthiest arrangements are simply two businesses recommending each other. Where any fee, discount or reciprocal deal exists, we help you put it in writing and tell the customer about it.
Will partner links help my Google rankings?
That isn't the point, and we don't sell it that way. Google treats link swaps and paid links meant to move rankings as spam. Referrals are business relationships; any link between partners is there to help a customer, not a search engine.
What does it cost?
Trades.Agency family plans start at $1,999 a month month-to-month, or $1,499 a month billed annually, plus 5% GST. The first 30-minute consultation is free for eligible trades businesses, and there is no long-term contract.
